Watches & Cars Collaborations (Part 2)

Watches & Cars: A common Expression

Passion and Mechanics: 2 words that join naturally together these 2 universes: Automotive and Watch making.

Luxury Cars and watches truly have a lot in common: styles, designs, aesthetics, complexity, usability, even materials and both items can be perceived as a form of investment.

Design and mechanics are unifying watches and cars. In a metaphoric perspective, the watchcase represents roughly the “chassis” of the car while the movement is the engine. Then Time and Timing make a concrete link between watches and cars. A nice complicated watch is as much about giving the time, as a sports car is about to drive as fast as possible. They are expressing a lifestyle, an attitude, and a certain mean of distinction.

In the end, it is not surprising to see plenty of watch brands and models, directly linked with the Automotive world, from ancient cars to modern racing and Formula 1…As a luxury car manufacturer, having a partnership with a watchmaker has become a must. There are less and less prestigious car brands that would not consider partnering with a watchmaker, and vice-versa.
